“Your interest is my priority”
– Tim Farber
Tim Farber
Mr. Tim Farber has been practicing law since 2008 and also serves as a part-time judge (deputy justice) at the Court of Appeal in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. In addition, he was affiliated with Leiden University for over 15 years as a lecturer in procedural law.
He is known as an expert in the fields of corruption, financial, tax, and corporate criminal law. These are often complex and extensive criminal cases, both national and international, involving various interests beyond the suspicion(s) themselves. For example, when a company is involved in an investigation, the interests of the directors and staff always play a role alongside the company’s interests. Tim has extensive experience in this specific area and serves as a sharp and reliable sparring partner.
His clients are primarily companies and their directors, professionals (such as accountants and tax advisors), as well as private individuals.
His experience includes assisting suspects, companies, and individuals, as well as companies that have been victims of criminal offenses. He assists these companies in conducting internal investigations and preparing and filing criminal complaints.
In addition, Tim has extensive experience in the field of tax proceedings. He also has specialized experience in the overlap between tax and criminal proceedings.
The investigations for which Tim is engaged are usually conducted by the FIOD or other special investigative services such as the ILT-IOD, ISZW-DO, NVWA-IOD, and the National Criminal Investigation Department. These investigations are often characterized by a long duration, which means a long period of uncertainty and lack of clarity for those involved. Creating clarity for his client as quickly as possible and taking (back) control is therefore the starting point of his assistance.
After studying tax law at Leiden University, he worked as an attorney and tax expert in the tax litigation practice of Hertoghs advocaten-belastingkundigen. Following this, he worked in the Amsterdam criminal law practice of De Roos en Pen criminal law attorneys, and subsequently at Siekman & Stassen attorneys and tax experts, where he was a partner in the firm in recent years. At these top-tier firms, he further developed as a specialist within his field.
On January 1, 2014, he co-founded Farber Zwaanswijk Advocaten B.V. with his partner.
